Baptism
Baptism is the first Sacrament that we receive and by which we become the adopted children of God.
The effects of Baptism:
- Remits all sins, both original and personal, and their temporal punishments.
- Imprints an indelible mark on the soul of the baptized, marking him as God's.
- Infuses sanctifying grace, supernatural gifts and virtues.
Baptism is only received once, generally as an infant, but all are called to be baptized, and converts can receive the Sacrament at any age.
